Mateo Barragán is an audio engineer and producer born in Ecuador and based in Los Angeles. He is an engineer and producer at Igloo Music, where he collaborates with industry leaders like the multi-Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Gustavo Borner.
Mateo graduated from the Recording Arts Program at Full Sail University in 2015, where he honed his expertise in audio engineering and music production.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Mateo has contributed to numerous acclaimed projects in the music industry. As part of the Igloo Music team, he has worked on several projects for artists such as Molotov, Los Auténticos Decadentes, and most notably, Grammy-winning albums including Vicente Fernandez’s Un Azteca en el Azteca and White Sun’s Mystic Mirror. Mateo also engineered a song for Residente’s latest album, which won both a Latin Grammy and a Grammy award in 2025.
Mateo is involved in several projects in the Los Angeles music industry scene. In addition to his engineering work, Mateo is active as a producer and executive producer. He executive produced and mixed the album Targo by Argentinian artist Nahuel Santos and is currently developing additional albums with the artist. Mateo is also involved in artist development, working with talents such as ILONA, Jordan Hawkins, Komal, and Ecuadorian artist Jandino, alongside producing for sync and licensing opportunities.
